Return to Bendoc
after a 2-year absence

Everyone was happy to return to Bendoc.
As it had been unoccupied for a while, there was some pruning to catch up on.
Keen helper
Evenings were warm enough to eat outside
The kids enjoyed the tire-swings as in the olden days (but not the trampoline - it feels small and dangerous compared to the larger one at home with side netting).
Santa filled the Christmas stockings overnight.
Oma and mamma baked the traditional gingerbreadhouse with Juliana and Emma
Emma folded swans with her aunt
Token effort,
so dad could send a picture to his work (where he missed the family gingerbreadhouse baking contest - submissions were due on 20th December).
For the Christmas pudding ...
everyone got to throw in a silver coin ...
and stir it through the pudding.
Family presents under the Christmas (gum) tree, including the stand-up paddle board wrapped in a bed sheet.
Ready for Christmas lunch
Dad cooked the barbecue this year
desert (just part of it)
After lunch, we unwrap the presents. Emma gave dad a thermos coffee mug for in the car (to replace the leaking one, which annoys her endlessly).
Piet gave dad a thermometer for inside and outside the house.
Back home on Monday (dad still had Tuesday off too).
